Dorianne being back from Berlin visiting for few days we took off to Romania, ok, not for a party but at least to show her Bucharest.
First night in Svishtov a town full of fond memories, as well as gateway to the ferry across to Romania, The Friendship bridge in Ruse is still under repair with up to four hours of waiting delays to cross.

We slept the night in our favorite spot and walked the town in the evening. At 8.30 am we presented ourselves at customs leading onto the 9am ferry.
Meeting new friends while on the ferry with a fresh "cuppa" in hand.

We are normally the biggest vehicle in the lot, this time we were the 'youngens'
By 11am we're were in Romania and well on our way to Bucharest.
After finding good parking near the Mihia Bruva metro station we visit Unirri piata.

Took a very pleasant walk through town up to a park where they were having some kind of Easter fair.

A first.....
Cinnamon roll with a difference.
In the evening we made our way to Piata Romano and back with a metro to the van, deciding to sleep right there where we had parked for the day.

Dorianne's new bed served her well.

The next morning we had our first "proper" stealth van indoor shower.
It works so well "three in a row" shower session.
With a late start we drove all the way to Vidin (Bulgaria) arriving around nine that night. After a good night's rest and sunny weather, a photo shoot at the "abandoned synagogue" was a "no brainer".

Camera memory cards full ....

there was still enough time to drive to Belogradchic in the afternoon.

.... an amazing wild camping spot in the mountains around Belogradchic.
The next day with heavy hearts and a few tears, we said goodbye to Dorianne. Our spot in Sofia was waiting for us and the next morning we settled in on a two day journey back home.

One night along the river

the next night on the mountain near Koprivititsa.
