Definition

A street bound vehicle which renders accommodation anywhere, anytime in any environment, without anyone knowing that it was ever there for that purpose.

Points of

interest

( general )

They are cheaper to run.

Stealth campers are much more aerodynamic than Mobile campers.

They are far safer

Mobile campers are obvious targets, stealth vans look like any other panel van parked in town and are much less attractive out in the open.

They are unique and efficient.

Stealth campers are custom made to your requirements, base vehicles are chosen according to your needs. Therefore you get and pay for what you want.

Cuase you to blend with the locals.

When one blends in, harrasement by tourist touts that normally decend on tourists come to an end. (tourist touts don't harrase "locals")

Can be more than "just" a camper

Designed and built correctly they can be converted back into transporters (ours for example)

They have it all

Apart from some possible draw-backs of setting up "time" a well built stealth camper will give you all the same facilties a "normal" camper will. ( "time" is something you have plenty of when you a touring without concerns)

Can be taken out of "stealth mode"

There are circumstances where you want your camper to be seen as "normal" (special discounts on ferries or use of camp facilities).  This is easily done for a few hours or more. Until you decide to go back into "stealth mode".

Our van's specifics

Maxi Length Mercedes Sprinter

We wanted enough space for a proper permanent double bed, couches, kitchen, bathroom and toilet. This requires space so we sacrificed "ease" of parking for a liitle more space.

Seperation of day and night time facilities.

To have the best bed arrangement as well as keeping the "bedroom" seperate, we opted to use the two entrances of the van for varying activies. Slide door towards bedroom, toilet and living area. Back doors to the kitchen and washing room. (early morning coffee and ablutions are catered for in a well designed area of the bedroom).

Modular design for versitility

Kitchen, shower, bed, toilet and living areas are all modular, they can easily be cleared, removed and stored. This makes our van available for other purposes while in "non touring" mode. The removal and assembly is done in roughly three hours.

Only for two

Everything was purposfully designed for two people. At a push a third person could travel with us and be accomodated in a temporary fashion. (we recently travelled with our daughter in Greece and Romania)... we have the facility for a drop down bed above our couch chairs and an additional seat can be installed up front.
